Male Hormone Profile

The Male Hormone Profile is a panel of blood tests which measures the levels of seven hormones and male sex hormones (androgens) in the blood including testosterone, luteinizing hormone, DHEA-S, oestradiol, sex hormone binding globulin, follicle stimulating hormone and prolactin. Androgens are responsible for the development of male sexual characteristics, and in adult males are required for normal reproductive and sexual function.

Responsible for sperm production, like LH this is produced by the pituitary gland and abnormal levels can result in problems with sexual and reproductive function, causing fertility problems.
This is a carrier protein produced by the liver. Changes in SHGB levels can affect the amount of testosterone that is available to be used by the body. Abnormal SHBG levels, whether too high or too low, can lead to symptoms related to altered testosterone availability, such as mood swings, low libido, erectile dysfunction, and infertility.
Like LH and FSH, this hormone is produced by the pituitary gland. High levels can indicate liver, kidney and thyroid problems. Sometimes, high levels are caused by a benign tumour on the pituitary gland, which may not show symptoms. When symptoms do show, they include erectile dysfunction, decreased body hair, headaches, vision disturbances and a low sex drive.
This is the primary sex hormone, responsible for sperm production, sex drive, bone mass, muscle size and strength in men. Although it’s normal for levels to decline after age 40, when levels are too low you may experience symptoms such as low libido, erectile dysfunction or infertility. Other symptoms may include a change in mood, weight gain and a reduction in muscle mass.
This is the most abundant steroid hormone in the body. It’s used by the body to produce other hormones including testosterone and oestrogen. Low levels can cause erectile dysfunction and a low sex drive.
Responsible for stimulating the production of testosterone, this hormone is produced by the pituitary gland at the base of the brain. Abnormal levels can result in problems with sexual and reproductive function.

You will receive an email notification as soon as your results are available in My Wellness. Processing times vary by test, with some results accessible on the dashboard in as little as three days. Each result is explained in plain English with no medical jargon and is given a flag of green, amber or red, so you can easily see any areas for concern.

I received various invitations to get checked out, but always wondered would it be worth it.... Then I just decided to do it, and honestly I couldn't be happier. The location was easy to get to. I got looked after very well, everything got explained in normal English and the details I received after were amazing. The book was really detailed and easy to understand. Will definitely recommend and do it again for myself.
