Advanced Menopause Profile

Our Advanced Menopause Profile offers an insight of hormonal changes to help determine if you are experiencing the menopause. It can also assist in planning and adjusting hormone replacement therapy (HRT) tailored to your needs. The results should be considered alongside your symptoms and discussed with a GP to address any menopause-related concerns. This package includes a GP Consultation.

Consider taking this test if you have stopped menstruating or if you suspect you may be entering menopause but are unsure due to the presence of a hormonal coil, such as Mirena. When to take the test: the test should ideally be done before 11 a.m. because it includes testosterone, which is best measured in the morning. If you are still menstruating, please take the test on day 3 of your menstrual cycle (with day 1 being the first day of bleeding). If you have not had a period for more than 2-3 months, you can have the test done on any day.

5 key hormones tested

Consider this test if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: hot flushes or night sweats, mood changes or irritability, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, decreased libido. You may also benefit from this test if you are: between 40 and 45 years old with menopausal symptoms, over 45 and have a Mirena coil in place, between 45-60 and want to check your menopausal status (keeping in mind that current guidelines suggest a blood test is not required to confirm the diagnosis of menopause), considering starting HRT or already on HRT and want to monitor specific hormone.

After you've received your results report, you can book your Private GP Consultation (which takes place over phone or webcam) at a time and date convenient to you. The GP will have a copy of your full results report, allowing you to talk through any areas of concern.
Oestradiol is the main naturally occurring oestrogen in your body. Together with regulating the reproductive system and secondary female characteristics, it also has an impact on the health of other tissues and organs including bone, liver, fat and the brain.
Women have lower levels of testosterone in their blood to help maintain hormone balance and regulate other body functions. This test can detect abnormally high or low testosterone levels, which may indicate an adrenal problem. It can also be used to monitor your health if you have had abnormal testosterone results in the past or are taking medications that may affect your testosterone levels.
FSH plays a crucial role in women by promoting egg growth in the ovaries each month and stimulating the production of oestrogen. As a woman approaches menopause, her body gradually stops producing eggs, causing FSH levels to rise. Elevated FSH levels can therefore be an indicator of the onset of menopause, reflecting reduced ovarian function and declining oestrogen production.
This is a carrier protein produced by the liver. Changes in SHGB levels can affect the amount of testosterone that is available to be used by the body. Abnormal SHBG levels can cause mood swings, weight gain, low sex drive and infertility.
TSH, also known as thyrotropin, is a hormone produced in the pituitary gland that triggers your thyroid gland to produce and release hormones. Your thyroid gland is an important endocrine gland responsible for producing and releasing the hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).

Attend your appointment

Your Health Assessment Specialist, fully trained in phlebotomy, will take a blood sample, ask you a few questions about your lifestyle, and complete the non-blood tests (like blood pressure, for example). The process is quick and pain-free, normally taking under 30 minutes.

Your results are processed

Your blood sample and other readings are analysed by specialists in their field. We use the largest independent lab in the UK for blood testing, and a specialist cardiology centre for ECG trace analysis. If any concerning results are found, we'll call you straight away.

Receive your results report

You will receive an email notification as soon as your results are available in My Wellness. Processing times vary by test, with some results accessible on the dashboard in as little as three days. Each result is explained in plain English with no medical jargon and is given a flag of green, amber or red, so you can easily see any areas for concern.

I received various invitations to get checked out, but always wondered would it be worth it.... Then I just decided to do it, and honestly I couldn't be happier. The location was easy to get to. I got looked after very well, everything got explained in normal English and the details I received after were amazing. The book was really detailed and easy to understand. Will definitely recommend and do it again for myself.
