Important information about our services

Our services

Our health assessments include questions, measurements, physical testing, and biological sample collection. Biological sample testing and cardiology services are provided by third party suppliers.

We do not provide individual advice or personal recommendations about what type of health assessment is suitable for you. We apply age and gender restrictions to certain tests if they’re in your health assessment package.

Our health assessments are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about your health, or any specific questions about any medical matter, you should consult your doctor or other professional healthcare provider. If you think you may be suffering from any medical condition you should seek immediate medical attention.

You should not use our services if you have symptoms of illness. If after making a booking, or on the day of a health assessment, you have symptoms of illness, please advise us immediately so that we can cancel or reschedule your appointment.

You should not use our services if you are pregnant. If after making a booking you find out that you are pregnant, please advise us so that we can cancel or reschedule your appointment to three months after childbirth. Our services are not a replacement for medical treatment, nor are they diagnostic. Information contained within your results report does not constitute medical advice.

When you have two or more Bluecrest health assessments, at our discretion we may provide graphical trending of your results. Trending is available for a selection of tests and is intended for informational purposes only. Trending is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice and should not be used for diagnosis, monitoring or treatment. It is important to note that test ranges are correct at the time of reporting, but are subject to change in line with advances in medical research, policy and practice. Bluecrest work with multiple partner laboratories and ranges may vary between them; this is because different laboratories may use different equipment and testing methods. Due this reason, please take care when viewing graphical and if you need further guidance please seek professional medical advice.

Bluecrest carefully selects independent laboratories to analyse samples and conduct tests. Our partner laboratories are UKAS-accredited, ISO-certified, and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and undertake work for the NHS, ensuring the highest standards of reliability and accuracy in our results.

It's important to note that some variation between test results is expected when comparing Bluecrest’s laboratory findings with those from other suppliers . Small variations in laboratory test results between different labs can occasionally occur. This can stem from several sources including biological fluctuations, sample collection methods, handling and storage conditions, analytical errors, and physiological changes. Factors such as the time of day, diet, medication, exercise, and psychological stress can sometimes influence test outcomes. Additionally, technical aspects like the test equipment used (impacting instrument calibration, reagent quality, and the inherent sensitivity of the test method) can also play a critical role in the consistency of results. This makes direct comparison of results between different suppliers difficult and sometime unreliable.

Informed Consent

At Bluecrest, we believe that regular health assessments can help you to keep check of your health and understand various potential risks early enough to take preventive action if necessary.

We believe it is important to explain the context of your results and that is why we wait until all readings are compiled and analysed before sending you a comprehensive results report. No assessment can ever be completely 100% perfect. That’s why, when having an assessment, it is important to remember that a high level in any given test does not always mean that you have a particular health problem – but that further investigation may be required. This is normally via your GP who will have access to all your health history. There may be potential for some anxiety if your results are raised, and that is why our reports aim to make it clear what any test relates to. Conversely, a low reading in any given test does not mean that you will never have a particular disease. That’s why we also aim to support customers with information about proactive steps they can take to keep in good health. If you haven’t already signed up for our email health updates, please give your email address to a member of the team at your appointment.

We look forward to seeing you for your “health MOT” and trust that you will find everything to be to your satisfaction and the results report to be helpful. If there is anything we can assist you with today, or if you require any further information about a particular test, please ask a member of the team – we are always pleased to help.
