Assess hidden health risks

As well as a blood analysis (including markers for bone health, energy and muscles and essential proteins and iron), the Business Health Comprehensive assessment includes a biometric analysis which provides a breakdown of your employees’ body composition, from body fat and muscle mass to basal metabolic rate and body water.

MSK – helping employees return to work with back pain

Musculoskeletal issues and back pain are one of the biggest reasons for sickness absence in the UK and affect around 8 out of 10 of us at some point, which is why our Business Health Extra, Comprehensive and Executive assessments come with a Musculoskeletal health assessment designed to troubleshoot problems and help people manage their symptoms and risk.

Also included is a musculoskeletal wellbeing consultation – a half hour session with a musculoskeletal expert to provide professional advice and guidance for the effective management of aches and pains and assessment and signposting for further treatment. With the right guidance and support at the right time most people with back pain can get back to their usual activities and back to work sooner.

Support the Mental Wellbeing of your employees

Also included is a 30-minute consultation with an Emotional Wellbeing consultant. Their job is to help people identify early signs of poor mental health, discuss concerns and needs, offer immediate support and guidance and when more support is needed and help guide employees to the most suitable next steps.

Health and wellbeing coach

Included in our Business Health Comprehensive and Executive, our 2 x 30 minute personalised Health and Wellbeing sessions are designed so that employees get the most from their health assessment. Our coaches will help employees understand the significance of their results and signpost lifestyle changes to improve health. The sessions are totally confidential and collaborative, designed to support long-term health goals.

GP Helpline - Follow-up GP support and private GP consultation

After your appointment, there is the added benefit of unlimited access to a 24/7 GP helpline for an entire year. This gives you fast priority access to a GP for all manner of general health issues - from tummy upsets through to travel advice, the service even covers certain prescriptions. Our Business Health Executive package also includes a Private GP Consultation, via phone or webcam, which you can book for a time and date convenient to you, allowing you to discuss your full Results Report with a medical expert.

What is included in this

package?

Please check below to see exactly what is included in this package:

Your lung function test is an assessment of your respiratory health using spirometry. Lung function is often impaired due to respiratory conditions like asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). This test is only recommended for ages 18-79.
A half hour session with a musculoskeletal expert to provide professional advice and guidance.
The HbA1c blood test determines your risk of diabetes and is far more accurate than standard glucose testing. While a standard test is a snapshot of your glucose levels at the moment your sample is taken, the HbA1c test measures the average amount of glucose in your blood over the last 2-3 months.
Mental wellbeing assessment, focussing on anxiety, depression and mood, resilience, and engagement in the workplace using GAD7 / PHQ8 / RAQ8 / Engagement
Consultation with an experienced Emotional Wellbeing Adviser.
This test examines your blood health by checking your haemoglobin levels (including Mean Cell Haemoglobin or MCH) and red blood cell count (also known as an erythrocyte count). Abnormal haemoglobin levels can sometimes be a result of heart and lung diseases, while MCH and red blood cell count abnormalities can be caused by anaemia or vitamin deficiency.
This test measures the levels of calcium, phosphate and uric acid in your blood. Calcium and phosphate are essential for muscle and nerve function, healthy teeth and bones, and energy function. Deficiencies in these can cause pins and needles, muscle cramps, weakness and tiredness. Uric acid helps test for gout, a painful condition affecting the joints in your body.
Your cholesterol test, also called lipid panel, measures Triglycerides, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) in your blood. LDL cholesterol is often referred to as bad cholesterol because high levels contribute to fatty build-ups in the arteries and increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The HbA1c blood test determines your risk of diabetes and is far more accurate than standard glucose testing. While a standard test is a snapshot of your glucose levels at the moment your sample is taken, the HbA1c test measures the average amount of glucose in your blood over the last 2-3 months.
The liver function test looks at ALP (alkaline phosphatase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), Gamma GT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase), and Bilirubin levels in your blood to understand if you have a normal liver function.
Your heart disease & stroke risk test, also called metabolic syndrome, combines test results from your health assessment (including cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure) with other common risk factors (like high blood pressure or having diabetes). Your result will help show the likelihood of you suffering heart disease or stroke in the future.
Your body composition scan is performed by sending a safe electrical signal through your body via pressure-contact electrodes. You’ll receive a breakdown of the percentages and weights of the various components of your body including muscle mass, visceral fat, body water and more.
This test uses a step test to help you understand your current level of fitness. During your assessment, we will measure three items: resting heart rate, heart rate after exercise and the oxygen level.
This specialist test measures the amount of lipoprotein (a) in your blood. Lipoprotein (a) is a sticky cholesterol rich protein which transports fats in the blood. Similar to LDL (bad) cholesterol, high levels are a risk factor for heart disease and stroke because they can stick to the walls of your arteries, restricting blood flow. This test is currently not available in Northern Ireland.
The FIB-4 test is a non-invasive scoring system for liver fibrosis, which uses your AST, ALT and platelet blood test results. The results from these are then combined into a score which assesses your level of liver fibrosis (the scarring process that represents your liver's response to injury).
Focused on back pain, designed to troubleshoot problems and help people manage their symptoms and risk.
After you've received your results report, you can book your Private GP Consultation (which takes place over phone or webcam) at a time and date convenient to you. The GP will have a copy of your full results report, allowing you to talk through any areas of concern.
This test uses an arm cuff attached to a sphygmomanometer to give your blood pressure result. Systolic and diastolic measurements are taken, helping identify high or low blood pressure.
Your essential proteins and iron test measures a number of important proteins found in the blood that are required for healthy bodily function, and iron which is vital for red blood cell production. Low protein levels can sometimes be related to liver or kidney disease, while low iron levels can show iron deficiency.
Your blood test for kidney function checks your levels of sodium, urea, and creatinine as these can indicate any issues with kidney function. We also include an eGFR test (estimated glomerular filtration rate) which is a calculation of the amount of blood filtered through your kidneys over a period of time. This useful test is a measurement of how efficiently your kidneys are working.
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common condition which restricts blood flow to the legs, most likely due to fatty deposits causing narrowing of the arteries (atherosclerosis). This test uses the ABPI (Ankle Brachial Pressure Index) to compare the blood pressure in your leg with the blood pressure in your arm. This test is only recommended for ages 40-79.
A 6-lead ECG test will be used to check your heart rhythm. An accredited Cardiac Data Analyst will then review your trace (the image of your heartbeat over a period of time). The most common type of irregular heartbeat is atrial fibrillation, which affects around 1.2 million people in the UK. People with an irregular heartbeat are 5 times more likely to suffer a stroke than those without. This is because the condition increases your risk of blood clots.
